Welcome Members and Friends

Welcome! We're a group of photography enthusiasts of all ages and skill levels. We use all manner of cameras, from point and shoots, to digital SLRs, to large format cameras. Our skill levels range from beginner to experienced, and everything in between. So, everyone is welcome.

The club works as follows - we meet the third Monday of every month for a digital competition, for which we bring in an outside professional to critique and judge our photos. We also have a yearly photo essay contest in April, and an end-of-season judging in May where the winners throughout the year are critiqued for the yearly best photo honors. We're also starting to organize events like photo walks and Photoshop workshops.

We present our winning pictures from our contests on this site. Feel free to browse around and see the variety of work we do.

So, why should you join? Well, we find that doing is a good way of improving. The monthly contests let us exercise our creative muscles. Participating in the contests forces you to get out there and take some pictures. There's also the camaraderie, and if you've got questions there's usually someone in the club that can answer them.

Sound interesting? Then feel free to drop by our meeting to get acquainted. Visitors are always welcome.

Think you might like to join? The first step is to register to use the site. That allows you to participate (upload images and vote) in the online competition, with no further obligation. If you have questions you'll also be able to post them in the online forum. When you're ready to join, download the membership form in the 'Membership and Downloads' section or just come to a meeting to check us out.

David Silber,
President

What kind of image editing program workshop would interest you?
Announcement Hello all

As some of you may know, we're going to have a Photoshop workshop in January. The purpose of the new poll/survey (on the left of the page) is to get an idea of what other types of programs people are using, for purposes of seeing if it's worthwhile to try to do workshops on other programs such as Photoshop Elements.

Please indicate which programs you would like to see a workshop for. Although you can only select one item from the list, you can take the survey multiple times if there is more than one image editing program that interests you.

Tips: View a larger image
Tips Bill writes, "When viewing images in the Photo Galleries, if you click once on an image in the gallery, you are shown a larger version of the picture by itself. But did you know that once that larger version displays, if you click it again, you will be shown an even bigger version?

This is a great feature for examining the details of an image."
