Next Meeting
Monday, October 16, 7:00 pm
Location: Patton Township Municipal Building Board Room, 100 Patton Plaza, State College, PA 16803. Entrance is to the left side of the building with an easy access sidewalk direct from the parking lot.
Meeting Competition Themes: “Water” and “Open”
You should have received an email inviting you to score the photos submitted for this month’s competition. Please follow the links given to PollUnit and provide your scores by Sunday, October 15, at midnight.
Monday’s meeting will be in a slightly different format than previous critique sessions. We will have some small-group critiques as well as time all together.

Sunday, October 15 “Wildlife and Fall Foliage”, at Ann and Eric Taylor Schmidt’s property in Sandy Ridge, PA. The field trip is for club members only and requires an RSVP by Tuesday, October 10 at 5 p.m. This is an opportunity to sit in some well-placed blinds and watch either the sunrise or sunset and any wildlife that comes your way. Sunday, October 22 “Hyner View State Park” Field Trip. This outing is weather-dependent. Members and friends are welcome. We will depart for Hyner View State Park from the Giant parking lot (2699 Benner Pike, Bellefonte, 16823) at 3 p.m. We expect to arrive at Hyner View by 4.15 p.m. Sunset is at 6.19 p.m. Please reply to Bill Duffy at wjduffypa@gmail.com if you plan to attend.

Monday, November 20 Meeting Guest Speaker Len Bernstein. Len will talk to us about Street Photography. You can see Len’s work here https://www.lenbernstein.com/. He would like to go to dinner with Photo Club members before the meeting. The location and time of dinner is TBD; all members are welcome.
Ongoing Exhibit
Now through October 30: KISH Bank State College Photo Club’s 3rd Annual Youth Showcase and Member Exhibit.
The KISH Bank Exhibit Opening Reception was a great success. Over 200 people attended, including five of the seven students whose work was exhibited. Thank you to Carolyn Todd-Larson, Lisa Cirincione, Bill Duffy, Joe Worrick, and Jane Liechty who helped to hang the art. Photographers from our club whose work is displayed are Ann Taylor-Schmidt, Art Heim, Bill Duffy, Carolyn Todd-Larson, Chris Taschner, Jane Liechty, Jim Thomas, John Larson, Lisa Cirincione, Rich Shore, Trisha Rubio, and Joe Worrick.

And finally...
On November 1, the Youth Showcase Exhibit will move to Schlow Library’s Teen Space until November 30, when the framed prints will be gifted to the students, courtesy of the SCPC and State College Framing Company.
PSA Photo Festival in Williamsburg, VA, 2023. Carolyn Todd-Larson, John Larson, and Lisa Cirincione attended the PSA Photo Festival and had a great time. Carolyn Todd-Larson was elected Chair of the Photo Travel Division (a global position), and Lisa is now the newsletter editor of the quarterly Photo Traveler Newsletter, which includes travel articles from all over the world. They did photo tours and attended workshops on all kinds of topics.
