Announcements/Goings-On
Dues! Dues! Due: Our program year begins this month! Art exhibits and competitions are for the
benefit of members only. Bring a check to our annual meeting or pay by PayPal. The cost is $35 for
individuals, $20 for students. For membership form and PayPal instructions go to

Happy Valley Rodeo is this Friday and Saturday at the Grange Fairgrounds in Centre Hall. The
rodeo performances start at 7:30 pm each night, general admission seating only, and gates open at
5:30 pm. Presale tix are no longer available, tickets will be available at the gate. Rodeos are great
photo opportunities. Some of us are going on Saturday, if you are interested in connecting email

Volunteers are needed to help photograph “Boots, Band, and Barn” fundraising event for
Housing Transitions on October 7 from 5:30-7:30 pm. If you are interested in helping out, please

Water is our first competition theme for the year, for our October meeting. Lots of possibilities!
Am very excited about the rest of the themes, which will be presented on Monday along with some
guest speakers for the year. Can’t wait to discuss!
The September PSA Journal featured an article on this year’s Youth Showcase that includes a bio
of Alexandra Antoniono, of State College Area High School. Alexandra’s photo Julia #8 was the
First Place Winner in the People and Animals Category. A great accomplishment for our club!
Again, congratulations to Alexandra for her successful entry!
The Program Committee led by Bill Duffy has been busy this summer planning the 2023-2024
program, which will be presented at our Annual Meeting. As you can see from the Upcoming
Dates, they are proposing some field trips including one this weekend! Many thanks to program
committee members Bill Duffy, Jane Liechty, Ann Taylor-Schmidt, Rich Shore, Alan Lucas,
Tricia Rubio, Chuck Carroll and John Larson for their input and involvement.

this year. Linda is a former member of the State College Photo Club who is an accomplished
photographer. We will review in a slide show all the photos that placed in competitions
this year and Linda will comment on and choose the overall winners for the year.
