STATE COLLEGE PHOTO CLUB COMPETITIONS

Six of our eleven monthly meetings are devoted to providing feedback on your photos through competitions or through advice. Meeting time is devoted to discussing the strengths and weaknesses of each photo and suggesting improvements.

    • Three meetings consist of a themed and an open category competition.

    • Three meetings consist of a themed competition and other agenda items such as an advice session or quick workshop.

Most competitions are scored by our members using an online scoring process ahead of the meeting. For certain themes we will invite an outside judge to score a competition.

Whether you compete or just wish to get advice, our overall goal is to help you improve your photography.

INTERCLUB COMPETITIONS

We belong to the international organization Photographic Society of America (PSA). As a club we participate in Inter-Club competitions in the Pictorial Projected Image Division (PID). Three times yearly, our club submits six photos chosen by members. We compete against seventeen other clubs in twelve states and five countries. We have been steadily rising in the PSA club rankings.

Why compete with other clubs? We become exposed to different styles of photography and learn about what’s considered best in camera clubs throughout the world.
